The Media Internet supports professional and novice content producers and is at the crossroads of digital multimedia content and Internet technologies. It encompasses two main aspects: Media being delivered through Internet networking technologies (including hybrid technologies) and Media being generated, consumed, shared and experienced on the web.

Future Media Internet international roadmap


The objective of this work package is to structure the evolution path that the research on Future Media Internet (specially on the interaction between Media Internet and Content-centric networks/network aware applications) should follow, to organize the existing knowledge in a unified form that will allow for further building upon, and to compare the research situation of this topic in Europe with the investigation already done in Japan and USA. Additional measures to this roadmap will include the identification of relevant patents in the field in the selected areas and relevant standardisation potentialities for the media unit projects.
