CyberNEMO progresses in Rome towards interoperable AI-driven cybersecurity solutions

The consortium of the European project CyberNEMO held its 6th General Assembly this week in Rome, Italy, in a meeting hosted by Engineering Ingegneria Informatica. The event brought together project partners to review current progress, coordinate upcoming activities, and reinforce collaboration ahead of the project’s upcoming technical review.

Researchers from the Grupo de Aplicación de Telecomunicaciones Visuales (GATV) at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, including Iago Fernández-Cedrón and Miguel Ángel Puentes, participated in the technical coordination and integration activities of the project.

Discussions during the meeting focused on several key areas related to AI-driven cybersecurity, including risk assessment and mitigation, system integration, and validation of technologies in complex IoT–Edge–Cloud environments. The sessions also covered dissemination activities, standardisation efforts, and engagement with stakeholders across the European ecosystem.

One of the central goals of this General Assembly was to advance the integration of the different technological components developed within the consortium, moving from isolated developments toward interoperable and scalable solutions designed to secure critical infrastructures.

Meetings such as this are essential in large-scale European research initiatives, as they help maintain alignment across work packages, validate joint progress, and ensure continuity toward upcoming project milestones.

GATV’s participation in CyberNEMO reinforces the group’s commitment to applied research in strategic areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and distributed architectures, contributing to the development of technologies with strong industrial and societal impact potential.
