GATV Drives Audiovisual Innovation at the Annual RTVE Chairs Meeting

On July 8, 2026, the headquarters of the Real Academia de Ingeniería (RAI) hosted the annual meeting of the RTVE Chairs. This strategic event served to review the activities developed over the past year and outline the main work guidelines for the coming months. The session was opened by Javier Pérez de Vargas, Managing Director of the RAI, and Esteban Mayoral, Deputy Director of RTVE’s Innovation and Knowledge Observation Center.  

Representing the RTVE Chair at the UPM, GATV members David Jiménez and Álvaro Llorente attended the meeting, actively contributing to the technical panels and discussions.  

The group’s contribution focused on two critical pillars for the future of the media landscape:  

• UHD Innovation: Addressing cutting-edge research in the production and distribution of Ultra High Definition (UHD) audiovisual content.  

• Broadcast Sector Challenges: Analyzing the new technological demands that will shape the future initiatives of the Chair.  

This event reinforces GATV’s strategic positioning within the broadcast sector, fostering joint innovation and effective knowledge transfer between RTVE and academia.
