MIPAC

An important part of the degradation processes of materials in cultural heritage is associated with changes in its visual appearance, mainly in color. Based on this phenomenon, the MIPAC project will develop an innovative tool for monitoring the environmental impact on cultural heritage materials, based on the color changes associated with deterioration. The monitoring of these changes will be carried out through the image analysis of photographs taken with mobile phones and provided by visitors and those responsible for the collections through an application. This will allow for a flexible, scalable and low-cost solution to collect conservation data, and on the other, promote society’s commitment to its heritage.
