Every healthcare interaction with a cancer patient generates highly valuable and highly confidential data. The main challenges in digitizing pediatric cancer data are privacy, data robustness, and lack of interoperability and collaborative approaches. In addition, data sharing has traditionally been held back by the economic cost of processing and the diversity of national regulations and restrictions on handling sensitive data. UNICA4EU focuses on how the use of artificial intelligence (AI) can effectively unlock the sharing of all this data without losing sight of fundamental ethical, personal and legal rights, which must be the focus of attention.
