\nThe kick-off meeting of the H2020 REBUILD Project took place in the Unninetuno University<\/a> Campus in Rome from 28th to 30th January 2019 with the attendance of Silvia Uribe and Gustavo Hern\u00e1ndez from Universidad Polit\u00e9cnica de Madrid, one of the partners of the Project. Other partners from different countries, such as Spain, Greece, Italy, France or Belgium, include Universitat Aut\u00f2noma de Barcelona<\/a>, Engineering<\/a>, CERTH<\/a> or the United Nations (Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, UNESCO)<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The REBUILD project address immigrant integration through the provision of a toolbox of ICT-based solutions that will improve both the management procedures of the local authorities and the life quality of the migrants. The design approach is user-centered and participated: both target groups (immigrants\/refugees and local public services providers) will be part of the user requirement analysis and participants in three 2-days Co-Creation workshops organized in the 3 main piloting countries: Italy, Spain and Greece, chosen also for their being the \u00abaccess gates\u00bb to Europe for main immigration routes.<\/p>\n

Ethical issues are specially important in the REBUILD project, because it will carry out tests within all the relevant national, EU and international ethics-related rules and professional codes of conduct. Articles 21 & 23 of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union in this respect took special consideration.<\/p>\n
