Kick-off Meeting of the MIPAC-CM in Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Madrid, 14th February 2019

The kick-off of the project MIPAC-CM took place on 14th February 2019 in the school E.T.S.I de Telecomunicación de la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid with members belonging to the research groups participant: the coordinator Emilio Cano coming from COPAC (Corrosión y Protección de Metales en Patrimonio Cultural y Construcción) from Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Metalúrgicas (CENIM) by the Centro Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC); and José Manuel Menéndez and Juan Pedro López from Grupo de Aplicación de Telecomunicaciones Visuales (GATV) in the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM). MIPAC-CM Project belongs to the programme for synergic Research and Development Projects in interdisciplinary scientific areas of the plan Madri+d from Comunidad de Madrid with funding from European Social Fund (ESF) and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

The Project MIPAC: Monitorización por Procesado de Imagen y Ciencia Ciudadana para la Conservación de Materiales del Patrimonio Cultural (Monitoring through Image Processing and Citizen Science for Material Conservation of Cultural Heritage) has the main goal of developing an innovative solution based on the use of metallic dosimeters, image processing and Citizen Science with mobile applications for offering a low-cost tool for assessing the level of conservation of Cultural Heritage museum collections.
