The RTVE Chair at the UPM has facilitated the launch of the La 1 UHD channel on RTVE with the implementation of several pilots since 2015’.

The article ‘RTVE en UHD- in issue 178 of TM Broadcast magazine details the evolution carried out by RTVE to migrate the signal and its infrastructures to UHD. In this process, the RTVE Chair at the UPM has played an important role with the implementation of several pilots that have allowed RTVE, in a progressive way, to introduce the different elements that the UHD signal incorporates, such as higher resolution (4K and 8K), high dynamic range (HDR), wider colour gamut (WCG), higher frame refresh rate (HFR) and new generation audio (NGA).
