Easy TV european project in Access Services Experts Group Meeting in Geneva, 9th November 2018

The project Easy TV: Easing the access of Europeans with disabilities to converging media and content coordinated by Universidad Politécnica de Madrid was presented in the meeting of the European Braodcasting Union (EBU) for the Access Services Experts Group last 9th November 2018 in Geneva (Switzerland).Francesc Mas from Corporació Catalana de Mitjans Audiovisuals (CCMA) presented the project demonstrating the capabilities of HbbTV and broadcasting services for offering innovative accessibility tools, including the synchronization of second screen devices for improving the user’s experience.

The EBU Access Services Experts Group brings together broadcast professionals from access services such as subtitling, signed programmes, audio description, automations, accessibility in new platforms and audio subtitling which enable sensory handicapped people to access public broadcasters’ content all over Europe. This group meets once a year to discuss important issues in access services with contributions from RTS, SWISS TXT, France TV, NPO, RBB, DW, SVT, NRK, DR, MDR, BBC, RED BEE MEDIA, the European Federation of Hard of Hearing, the Royal National Institute of the Blind or CCMA.
