GATV team taking part in La Noche de los Investigadores, 29th. September 2017

GATV the ICT4LIFE European project developments aimed at the integration of information technologies for the quality life improvement in patients with degenerative diseases such as Parkinson, Alzheimer and other dementias, in “Octava Noche Europea de los Investigadores”. Presentation was held the 29th. of Septemeber in Facultad de Ciencias de la Educación Física y del Deporte (INEF) with the cooperation of Asociación del Parkinson de Madrid (APM).

This event is a project of scientific dissemination fostered and funded by the European Commission as part of both Marie Marie Skłodowska-Curie (MSCA) and H2020 programs. It’s held in different European cities and regions since 2005. Madrid joined this initiative in 2010 and this year more than 300 cities were participating.

Public of all aged has the opportunity to test and evaluate the performance of the new technologies: Kinect cameras and intelligent bracelets able to detect falls and send notifications to doctors or caregivers using mobile or smart TV apps. Some visitors even simulated a fall themselves so they can see the system operating “on stage”.
